The American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) released their Spring/Summer newsletter recently and it featured the story about Studycast being used to help a record-setting medical mission project in India!
In late January, ASE sponsored the travel of cardiovascular sonographers to a remote field in India, where an estimated 12 million people gathered for a meditation camp. These sonographers and their Indian physician counterparts used hand-held echocardiography units provided by GE Healthcare in combination with Core Sound Imaging’s web-based ultrasound transmission solution, Studycast®, provided free screening echocardiograms to over 1,000 people in 2 days!
Record Attendance
An outstanding 12 million people attended a meditation celebration in Sirsa, India where over 5,000 people of all ages were pre-screened for the possibility of structural cardiac diseases. The ASE team saw over 1,000 patients in just two days.
If that wasn’t impressive enough, the trip also set a Guinness Book World Record 555 Doppler studies performed in 24 hours!
