Raleigh, NC – Studycast by Core Sound Imaging announces the release of Studycast Advisor. A few short weeks ago, the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) released their Recommendations for Noninvasive Evaluation of Native Valvular Regurgitation: A Report from the American Society of Echocardiography Developed in Collaboration with the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. You don’t have to be a cardiologist or echocardiographer to think this sounds complicated. ASE describes these new guidelines as something that “tackles this complex subject”. It takes 85 pages to detail these guidelines. This advisor will take the 85 pages of ASE guidelines and ‘prompt the physician to let them know that based on the quantitative and semi-quantitative data available in the Studycast worksheet, as indicated by the ASE Guidelines, valvular regurgitation may be indicated, and to what degree. Studycast is all about simplifying medical image reporting.
As indicated by the ASE Chair of the writing group, Dr. William A. Zoghbi, MD, MACC, FASE, “valvular regurgitation is the most difficult valve lesion to assess.” This is one of the contributing factors that moved Core Sound Imaging to roll out the Studycast Advisor feature first in the Studycast transthoracic echo SmartWorksheet™. This is just the beginning for the Studycast Advisor. Previously published ASE guidelines will be incorporated into the Studycast Advisor in the upcoming months. Then vascular, obstetric and other ultrasound worksheets will benefit from the Studycast Advisor.
